About – The Clearing

The Clearing

A space to return to yourself.

Through breath, movement, meditation, and rest, we offer practices that help people soften, strengthen, and reconnect. This is wellness without performance. This is rest without apology. This is a practice of coming home.

The Clearing is a yoga and wellness space rooted in breath, movement, meditation, and rest. We created this space for people who want healing practices that feel accessible, grounded, and liberating. Our approach is trauma-informed, community-centered, and built around the belief that you should not have to perform to belong.

What would a yoga space feel like if people did not have to perform to belong?

Too many wellness spaces ask people to shrink, mask, push through, or prove they are "ready" for healing. Too many spaces center aesthetics over presence, perfection over practice, and urgency over rest. The Clearing was created as an answer to that harm.

This space began with a different vision. A vision of yoga as something more honest, more accessible, and more liberating. A vision of wellness that does not ask you to leave your body, your history, or your humanity at the door.

At The Clearing, we believe the body is not a problem to fix. It is a place to return to.

We created this space for people who have felt unseen in traditional yoga and wellness spaces. For people carrying stress, grief, burnout, trauma, and the daily weight of the world. For people who want movement, breath, and rest that actually support their nervous system. For people who are looking for a practice that feels like coming home to themselves.

The Clearing is rooted in the understanding that healing is personal, but it is also collective. The way we move, breathe, rest, and gather with one another matters. We are not interested in recreating spaces that center performance, whiteness, or disconnection. We are interested in creating a space where people can practice in ways that feel spacious, grounded, and real.

Our classes are shaped by a simple but powerful rhythm:

Breath. Movement. Meditation.

We begin with breath because breath helps us arrive.

We move because movement can help us reconnect.

We end with meditation and rest because rest is not an afterthought here. It is part of the practice.

The Clearing is not just a studio. It is a space for reclamation. A space to soften. A space to strengthen. A space to remember that your body belongs to you.

You do not have to be flexible.

You do not have to know the poses.

You do not have to perform wellness here.

You just have to come as you are.

Built from years of teaching, community, and deeper questions.

The Clearing grew out of years of teaching, community building, and asking deeper questions about what yoga is really for.

It came from noticing how many people walked into yoga spaces carrying shame, tension, and the feeling that they had to get it right. It came from seeing how often rest was treated like something to earn instead of something we deserve. It came from a desire to build something different — something more trauma-informed, more community-rooted, and more honest about what it means to heal in a world that often keeps people disconnected from themselves.

The Clearing was created to offer that difference.

It is a space shaped by liberation, nervous system care, and the belief that healing practices should be accessible to real people living real lives. Every class is designed to help people reconnect to breath, move in ways that support their body, and experience rest as a necessary part of wellness.

This is a space where we honor choice.

A space where we trust the body.

A space where we make room for both effort and ease.

A space where healing does not have to look polished to be real.

Wellness that makes more room for people, not less.

  • Yoga should support people, not pressure them.
  • Rest is essential.
  • Accessibility matters.
  • Healing cannot be separated from the conditions people are living through.
  • Wellness should make more room for people, not less.
  • The body is worthy of care right now, not just after it changes.

Whether you are new to yoga, returning after a long time, or looking for a space that feels more aligned with your values, The Clearing is here for you.

We are building a space where people can breathe deeper, move with more choice, rest more fully, and remember that healing does not have to be rushed to be real.

You belong here.
